Derbyshire Schools Cross Championship
On Saturday 22nd January, five OIEA students represented Erewash Schools Sports at Derbyshire Schools Cross Championship at Mount St Mary’s Collage, Spinkhill. This competition had representatives from Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Derby East, Derby West, Derby Dales, Erewash, High Peak, NE Derbyshire and South Derbyshire.
The Five OIEA students Lola, Brooke, Amelia. Leo and Oscar had amazing races with all students being well placed on completion of their races. Special mentions to Amelia who finished in 11th place and Oscar who was in second place going into the final corner, gaining the lead of the race to just miss out on the sprint finish on the finish line, finishing 2nd and receive an invitational Scholarship Sports Trail and Medal.
